NIRF rank list has at least four TN universities

The much-awaited National Institutional Ranking Framework was released on Monday. The Indian Institutes of Technology- Madras, Bombay and Kharagpur have taken the first three ranks among engineering institutions in the country.

All the 11 Indian Instiutes of Technology have taken the first 11 spots in engineerng education.

Among the Universities the Indian Institute of Science has been ranked first and the Jawaharlal Nehru University and the University of Hyderabad have been ranked third and fourth.

Several TN varsities among 50 ranks

In Tamil Nadu, three government universities - Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu Animal and Veterinary Sciences University and the TN Agricultural University have been ranked 14th, 36th and 40th respectively.

Periyar Universiy of Salem and Alagappa Universiy of Karaikudi have been ranked 47th and 49th respectively.

Amomg private universities the Amrita Vishwa Vidhyapeetham has been ranked 19th among individual universities/institutions.

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology and SRM Instiute of Science and Technology have been ranked 42nd and 43rd repectively. Among private universities SASTRA has been ranked 40th.

In the management education institutes category the Indian Institute of Management, Ahemedabad has been ranked first.
