Two officials in the Revenue Department in the ranks of Village Assistants at Puthupalayam village were placed under suspension on Tuesday.
Apart from that, the village administrative officer of Puthupalayam village, Murugesan, was transferred to Pulippar village.
Official sources told The Hindu that while the orders suspending the village assistants, Natchimuthu and Muthukumarasamy, were issued by Tahsildar (Avanashi taluk), the order transferring the VAO was issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer of Tirupur.
Senior officials said that VAO was transferred on administrative reasons and the other two officials were suspended for not reporting day-to-day general matters to the higher officials.
