Two killed in accidents

Two persons were killed in two different accidents in Vellore district in the early hours of Monday.

A. Anthonyraj (59) of J.K. Nagar, Bengaluru was killed on the spot and four other occupants of a stationary car were injured when a Bengaluru-Chennai Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus dashed against the rear of the car near Vettuvanam, in the early hours of Monday.

According to the police, six persons including the driver were travelling in the car from Bengaluru on their way to Chennai, when the driver parked the car on the roadside to answer nature’s call when the accident occurred. The injured were admitted to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital (GVMCH), Adukkamparai and later referred to CMC Hospital where they are under treatment.

In another accident, S. Praveen Kumar (20) of Madhinapalli in Pernambut police station limits was driving a motorcycle with his friend Arun Pandian (18) on the pillion when an unidentified two-wheeler hit his motorcycle at Mathur.

Praveen Kumar died on the way to the Government Hospital, Pernambut. Arun Pandian has been admitted to the GVMCH.
