The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board Employees’ Union, affiliated to CITU, demanded 20 per cent bonus for all the Board employees.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at joint meeting of the Salem- Namakkal district unit of the union held here recently. P. Venkatachalam, its president, presided. The resolution urged the government to sanction 20 per cent bonus to all the employees without any ceiling.

Another resolution urged the Board to provide salary to all the employees of the comprehensive drinking water scheme which supplied potable water to 1,081 villages and hamlets by seventh of every month.

The government should come forward to extend insurance, PF, and ESI benefits to these employees.

The meeting decided to hold an agitation in front of the Collectorate here to press these demands. K. Ponnusamy, general secretary, and others spoke.
