The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) felt the heat of trolls on Twitter and Facebook as soon as Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam announced that the party will be part of the AIADMK-led alliance for the Lok Sabha polls.

The announcement triggered a deluge of photo and video memes trolling PMK founder S. Ramadoss. He drew flak for deciding to ally with the AIADMK and the BJP despite having been a vocal critic of the two parties in recent times.

Many social media users looked up old tweets of Dr. Ramadoss criticising the AIADMK on various issues and used them to troll the PMK leader. Videos of Dr. Ramadoss categorically stating that the PMK will never ally with Dravidian parties and party leader Anbumani Ramadoss branding Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his deputy O. Panneerselvam as ‘incapable’ were doing the rounds on social media.

Pictures of Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss presenting the Governor a dossier listing 24 corruption allegations also went viral.

Pictures with Health Minister

Memes about the PMK’s U-turn were widely shared. They included photographs of Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss with Health Minister Vijaya Baskar at the press meet. The PMK leader had targeted the Health Minister when the gutkha scam unfolded.

A video showing DMK leader M.K. Stalin criticising the PMK leader, saying he only cares about money, was widely shared by DMK cadre on social media.
