Convocation

Annai Velankanni College at Tholayavattam in Kanniyakumari district conducted its convocation ceremony  recently. K. Sivan, former ISRO chairman, was the chief guest. College president M. Xavier James Raj, Correspondent Fr. E. John Kulandai, Bursar Gladys Lily, vice president J. Aloysius Innocent and Principal J. Johnson were present.   In his address to the graduands, Mr. Sivan said success in life depended on making use of opportunities “which are open before you.”

Exhibition on instructional aids

V.O.C. College of Education in Thoothukudi organised an exhibition of teaching-learning instructional aids on April 4. A. Nellai Murugan, Director (Unaided), declared open the exhibition. Students from eight nearby schools accompanied by their teachers visited the exhibition. Teh arrangements were made by faculty members under the guidance of Principal T. Kanakaraj.

The Library Club of the college  organised  a lecture on  ‘An overview of INFLIBNET’ on April 7. The resource person, S.Selvam,  Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, V.O.Chidambaram College, explained the process of accessing e-resources, e-journals  and e-books with the help of Inflibnet N-List password. 

Mini marathon

A State-level mini marathon for girls was organised by A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women, Thoothukudi, Superintendent of Police L. Balaji Saravanan flagged off the marathon and gave a awareness talk on a mobile App of the police that helps people in distress. College chairman Chockalingam, Principal Meenakumari and Physical Education Director Anista were present.
