Three school children, who ran away from hostel and were found wandering in the road, were rescued by the police here on Thursday.

The boys aged 10, 11 and 12 years were from Karumandurai and were studying at a private school in the city. They were staying at a hostel in Veeranam area. On Thursday, the three decided to go to their house at Karumandurai on foot without informing the hostel warden. While they were in Ponammapet, the patrol unit intercepted and questioned them. Inquiries revealed that though the school was closed for puja holidays they were not allowed to go to their native place. Hence, the three decided to go home to meet their parents.
