The District Industries Centre will attract micro, small and medium entrepreneurs to invest in agro-based industries in the district. Theni DIC plans to attract investments to the tune of Rs. 50 crore this fiscal, according to Collector N. Venkatachalam.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday, he said the DIC would encourage new entrepreneurs and existing industrialists to expand, diversify and modernise their industries and identify a new range of products.
The district had a strong base in agro-industries, textile and readymade garments, general engineering, food processing, paper-based products, windmills, solar energy and rubber products, and high potential in other sectors such as hospitals and clinical laboratories.
