DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin, on Monday, exhorted the electorate to teach a lesson to the ruling AIADMK government in the State. “This is not a government. It is Jaya’s show,” he said, campaigning for DMK’s Central Chennai constituency candidate Dayanidhi Maran.
Claiming that the voters in many parts of the State were driving back ruling party leaders for failing to visit the constituencies in the past three years, he said the AIADMK rule promised plenty but delivered nothing. “They promised surplus power in three months but power cuts continue even after three years,” he charged.
While the new secretariat was locked stating that it would be difficult for the bureaucrats to travel two km (from Fort St. George), the same bureaucrats were travelling to Kodanadu with the same files to get her signature, Mr. Stalin alleged.
Urging voters to send a strong message to the Jayalalithaa government, Mr. Stalin said the mandate should empower Kalaignar (party leader Karunanidhi) to choose the next prime minister of India.
