Stage protest

October 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - SALEM:

The sit-in-protest by former students of a government-aided school on Sarada College Road, who were demanding free laptops, ended on Saturday after revenue officials promised to take up the issue with the government. On Friday, 60 students who have completed their Class XII in the school along with their parents came to the school demanding free laptops. But the school administration said that laptops would not be given for students who have studied in the self-financing course. They also submitted petitions to the Collector. But later in the evening, demanding laptops, they went on sit-in-protest inside the school from Friday evening.
