The security forces from either side of the border heaved a sigh of relief after the Karnataka High Court pronounced the acquittal of AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case on Monday.

For Karnataka police, it was finally over – the constant vigil, the deployments along the border and the perpetual alert mode.

In Hosur, minutes after the verdict, the AIADMK cadre rallied with the party flag, burst crackers and distributed sweets to the people at the Hosur bus stand.

Interestingly, unlikely for a Monday morning, the Krishnagiri-Hosur highway wore a deserted look.

However, Hosur roads were crowded as always, with the town’s public on the move and Karnataka registered vehicles were seen plying into Hosur.
