Saplings were planted on the premises of the Government District Headquarters Hospital here on Tuesday to create a greenery.Clean Hospital campaign is carried out at the hospital regularly. Recently, 49 sanitary workers were appointed.

They were involved in cleaning process besides removing the bushes on the premises.

As part of Greenery Week celebrations from January 19 to 25, members of Care Foundation along with doctors started planting saplings on the premises. Superintendent Dr. J. Mohan said that bushes would be cleared, and parks would be established on the premises.

He said that various steps were taken to ensure that the hospital premises remain clean.

Doctors sought the cooperation of visitors to the hospital to keep the premises clean. They should not throw waste materials around, and instead use the dustbins kept at various places.

The hospital administration is carrying out special campaigns every week on sanitation.

Such campaigns were carried out recently to clean bathrooms, terrace, and drainage. A mosquito eradication programme too was held.
