Blocking of free left turns at Four Road by road users pose severe hardship for others, and create traffic blocks in the city.

The junction at Four Road has a provision for free left so that vehicle users can take the Ramakrishna Road.

Those moving towards Collectorate, block the road forcing other vehicle users to wait at the signal unnecessarily.

Ignored

The ‘free’ left turn sign board at the junction is more often ignored.

The Omalur Main Road witnesses heavy traffic through out the day, and vehicles proceeding to Ramakrishna Road have to wait until the traffic signal opens for vehicle users to go straight.

A senior citizen said that the road is blocked completely by motorists who want to proceed straight.

Traffic police never takes any action against them.

Though adequate space is available on the Omalur Main Road, vehicle users continue to blocking the free left option.

“It results in more congestion at the junction,” said N. Moorthy, a motorist.

He asked the police to initiate action against rule violators who block the road.

A senior police official said that due to inadequate personnel for traffic management in the city, it was not possible to post anyone at the junction to check the violation.
