Retaining wall construction work reviewed

Collector E. Vallavan inspected the construction of a retaining wall all along the Annasami Vaikkal here recently. The work is being executed in two phases at a total estimate of Rs. 1 crore. He said the first phase of the work at an estimate of Rs. 25 lakh had been completed. He advised S. Shanmugasundaram, Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, to explore the possibility of laying a new road beside the Vaikkal for the benefit of residents of Kilijalmedu to reach Karaikal town. L. Mohammed Mansoor, Additional Collector, was present.
