The Teachers Recruitment Board on Friday cancelled the examination conducted on September 16, 2017 for direct recruitment of lecturers in government polytechnic colleges.
According to a press release, the notification of the examination will be issued during the first week of May and it will be conducted during August first week. The date of commencement of online application and date of examination will be announced later.
The release did not mention any reason for the cancellation of the examination.
Candidates, who appeared for the examination, said the TRB should publicly explain the reasons. Candidates who have already applied for the examination as per advertisement No.06/2017 dated July 28, 2017 have to re-apply, but they need not pay the examination fees. New candidates can also apply, the release said.
Unusually high scores
When the OMR (Optical Mark Reading) sheets were released in December 2017, they showed unusually high scores for many persons from other parts of the country. Voicing grievances, many candidates in the State alleged a scam.
Subsequently, on a complaint from TRB member-secretary Uma, police registered a case and arrested seven persons.
