For the second consecutive year, Erode district has held on to the State first spot in terms of overall pass percentage in SSLC with 98.04.
The district has secured 98.04 per cent, registering an improvement over last year’s 97.88. Of the 30,014 students from 342 schools who appeared, 29,425 came out successful.
Students secured as many as 5,696 centum in science, 2,153 in social science, and 1,362 in mathematics. Forty-three students had secured centum in English.
Seventy-eight out of the 156 Government schools scored cent per cent results. Nine Government aided schools, two municipal schools and two welfare schools also came out with flying colours. More importantly, 11 out of 15 tribal schools secured cent per cent results, said District Collector S. Prabakar.
Likewise, 123 matriculation schools secured cent per cent results, enabling the district to achieve the feat.
