Places for immersion of idols notified

: The district administration has notified two places for immersion of Vinayaga idols. In a press release, Collector S. Palanisamy said the idols should be immersed in the Vettar estuary in the Nagore bridge for the Nagapattinam sub-division and in the Cauvery in Mayiladuthurai sub-division. Idols painted with chemical materials will not be allowed for immersion.

Relief granted to 23 beneficiaries

: Collector S. Palanisamy received 223 petitions from the public during the weekly grievance day meeting here on Monday. He gave away cheques worth Rs. 4.83 lakh towards relief to 23 beneficiaries sanctioned by the Adi Dravidar Department.

House site pattas given to 50 persons

Collector S. Ganesh on Monday gave away house site pattas to 50 beneficiaries and cheques worth Rs. 78.40 lakh under ‘Pudhu Vazhvu’ scheme to 12 panchayat level federations. Earlier, he received 327 petitions from the public.
