Special attention should be paid to child trafficking cases. They should not be treated like any other ordinary cases. Persons involving in child trafficking should be booked under non-bailable offences, said Superintendent of Police A. Saravanan.
Addressing a training programme on ‘Anti-human trafficking’ for supporting officers here on Thursday, he said that the main purpose the training was to create awareness of various forms of human trafficking and child protection and rehabilitation measures.
Special teams had been constituted to control child trafficking in the district. Of the 14 child trafficking cases, children were handed over to the parents in two cases, he pointed out.
In his special address, Collector T.N. Hariharan said that training would be imparted to persons in all fields to protect the child.
The trainers explained various acts and provisions related to the human trafficking.
