Online applications invited from NGOs / govt. institutions

The Ministry Of Minorities Affairs (MOMA), Government of India has invited applications from non-governmental organizations / government institutions interested in imparting training to minority women under its ‘Nai Roshini’ scheme — the Scheme for Leadership Development of Minority Women for the year 2015-16.

According to a release from R. Nanthagopal, Collector of Vellore, interested organizations can apply online through the Online Application Management System (OAMS) by logging on to the website, www.minorityaffairs.gov.in.

NGOs/government organizations which implemented the scheme in 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 should also apply afresh, the release stated.

According to the MOMA website, the objective of `Nai Roshini’ is to empower and instill confidence among minority women, including their neighbours from other communities living in the same village/locality by providing knowledge, tools and techniques for interacting with government systems, banks and other institutions at all levels.

The scheme is run with the help of NGOs, civil societies and government institutions.

It includes various training modules like leadership of women, educational programmes, health and hygiene, Swachch Bharat, financial literacy, life skills, legal rights of women, digital literacy, and advocacy of social and behavioural change.
