An official team on Saturday inspected the stretch of the National Highway where a car proceeding to Bengaluru from Chennai met with an accident killing three occupants of the car, including Shanthini Kapoor, senior IAS officer, near here recently.

The incident took place in Kattinayanapalli on January 14.

The team led by Balasubramanian, District Revenue Officer, and comprising Parvadesan, a senior official of the NHAI, Chandrasekar, Divisional Engineer, NHAI, Ramakrishnan, Regional Transport Officer, inspected the stretch near Kattinayanapalli, which is said to be accident-prone.

The team members also inspected the stretch near the Thonnaiyankottai service road.

Later, they held discussion with the District Collector T. P. Rajesh.

Official sources said that it has been proposed to construct flyovers where ever needed along this stretch and also to display sign boards warning speeding drivers.
