Officials discuss preparations for Mahamaham in 2016

The Collector N. Subbaiyan held discussions with officials and local body representatives regarding preparations to be done for the Mahamaham festival to be celebrated in February 2016 at Kumbakonam on Friday.

The Collector discussed about roads and bridges to be widened, provision of drinking water supply, barricades to be put up, traffic regulation and so on.

Spot inspection

He also made a field visit to Cauvery river, old Palakarai road, Government hospital road to find out what works should be taken up.

The Collector also said that cleaning of the Cauvery river and removal of encroachments on its banks would be taken up.

K.Anbalagan, MLA, Rathna Sekar, chairperson of Kumbakonam Municipality, S.Suresh Kumar, District Revenue officer, Kalaiselvan, Executive Engineer, PWD, took part in the discussion.
