The Election Commission has approved the design and depiction of ‘None of the Above’ option (NOTA) on ballot papers. It will be a rectangular box with rounded corners and on a black background the letters NOTA will be depicted. The Tamil version will also be printed on the ballot papers along with the symbol.

In the case of Assembly elections, where the ballot papers are pink in colour, the word ‘NOTA’ will appear in pink in the black box, whereas for the general elections, the ballot papers will be in white and the letters in the rectangular box will be in white.
