Former State president of the Association of University Teachers (AUT), N. Senthamarai, has been nominated to the Search Committee formed to choose the next Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
In an order issued earlier this month, the Chancellor and Governor nominated Erode-based Prof. Senthamarai as the Syndicate Nominee to the three-member panel.
M. Rajaram, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, Chennai, is the Government Nominee and Convenor, and T. Veluchamy, a former principal, is the Senate Nominee.
Earlier, a senior member of the AUT, Kamalakannan of Chikkiah Naicker College, Erode, was made a member of the Adhoc Committee. He was chosen from the Teachers’ Constituency from Senate to the Syndicate to the committee.
Selvi Apoorva, Higher Education Department Secretary is the Convenor, and Elango, Syndicate Member of Bharathiyar University and Secretary of Kamalam College of Arts and Science, is the other member.
