An NIA team brought terror accused and senior leader of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) Jahid-ul-islam to Krishnagiri and conducted searches in Syed Basha hills on Monday. The team from Bengaluru, led by Superintendent of Police C.V. Subba Reddy along with 24 policemen, is said to have seized some batteries, pipes, and wires.

The searches were conducted following information that he had tested bombs in 2014 in the hills. Jahid-Ul-Islam alias Kausar was connected with the Burdwan blast of 2014, Bodhgaya blast of 2018 and Bengaluru bomb manufacturing case of 2019, said an official source.

On July 6, an NIA team brought another terror accused Habib-ur-Rahman Sheikh, a member of a banned organisation Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), to Krishnagiri, and conducted searches at the Syed Basha hills. Nothing was recovered at that time.
