A newborn girl, about one-day-old, was found inside the toilet at the Old Bus Stand here on Wednesday.
District Child Protection Officer C. Ashok Kumar told The Hindu that the baby had been admitted to District Headquarters Hospital here.
“The baby has slight respiratory problem and now under medical observation”, he said.
He added that another girl, about three months old, who was admitted to district headquarters hospital for treatment, had been abandoned by her mother on Monday evening.
That girl too is under medical observation, he said.
