Mylapore MLA and former DGP R. Natraj said on Friday that he would be voting against the motion of confidence. This brings the total number of MLAs supporting former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam to 11.
Mr. Natraj has been sitting on the fence over extending support to one of the two camps over the past 10 days. A few days ago, he had said that he would take into account the views of people in his constituency before taking a decision.
On Friday, Mr. Natraj revealed his cards and extended support to the Panneerselvam camp.
“My intention was that a good government should be in place. In the last 10 days, I spoke to both camps to bring about a solution, but that did not happen,” he told reporters.
Mr. Natraj said his decision was based on the views of the people of his constituency.
“People expect the same government, which was in place before this problem arose, to continue. Tomorrow (Saturday), during the voting, I will vote against the motion,” he said.
