A day after claiming to have solved the brutal murders of newly-wed couple from Tamil Nadu, the Mandya district police on Saturday said that the alleged twin-murder plot was hatched nearly three months ago in Hosur.

S. Swathi and her husband N. Nandhish, both residents of Soodakondapalli near Hosur in Krishnagiri district, were allegedly abducted from Hosur, tortured on the way and murdered in Mandya district by Swati’s family members and relatives on November 10.

Three arrested

Three persons — Swati’s father Srinivasan, uncle Venkatesan and their relative Krishnan — were arrested in connection with the case on Friday.

Interrogation of the trio and the investigations into the case revealed that the accused had started planning the crime about two or three months ago in Hosur, and finally executed it near Shivanasamudra in Mandya district late on November 10, a senior police officer told The Hindu .

The couple got married on August 15.

They registered their marriage on September 4. Soon after this, the accused discussed the murder plans. Nevertheless, the modus operandi of the murder was planned only a few days ago, said the officer.

According to the officer, Venkatesan, who played a major role in planning the double murder, had visited several places in search of a suitable place to dispose of the bodies.
