The Government Railway Police (GRP have arrested two brothers for allegedly murdering a youth due to enmity and throwing the body on railway track to show it as a case of accident or suicide.

GRP recovered the body of M. Ganesan (23), a two-wheeler mechanic from Melakkarai from the track at Thatchanallur on March 8 last. Since the face had been badly damaged, it was suspected that he might have committed suicide by jumping in front of the train.

However, investigations conducted by Inspector, Government Railway Police, Tirunelveli, Arul Prakash, revealed that Ganesan had been murdered due to enmity. The police found that Ganesan used to tease a girl from the same area, which was opposed by her brothers, who warned him of consequences, if he continued to do so.

When the problem continued, the brothers M. Sekar, M. Thavasi (26) and M. Sathyamoorthy (29) allegedly murdered Ganesan.

While Sathyamurthy and Thavasi were arrested, a hunt is on to nab Sekar, an office-bearer of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, and his associate Thangaraj of Singikulam.
