Vellore police have intensified their drive against traffic violations, with as many as 3,315 cases being booked against motorists for flouting helmet and seat belt rules in the last three days.

Vellore SP Pravesh Kumar ordered for stringent action against violators and police teams were stationed at various points in the town to check violations by motorists. 1,098 and 1,271 cases were booked on August 28 and August 29 respectively. On Friday, as many as 946 cases were registered.

The drive will be intensified across the district and any violation by the motorists and policemen will be dealt with seriously, said a communique from the Office of Superintendent of Police, Vellore.
