Mobile medical clinic to benefit differently abled in Kanyakumari

The mobile medical clinic, exclusively for the benefit of differently-abled persons was inaugurated in Kanyakumari district on Friday.

The clinic was inaugurated State-wide by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa through videoconferencing from Chennai recently. Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan inspected the services of the mobile clinic at the Duthie School near the Collectorate and said that the clinic will reach out to the doors of the differently-abled persons – adults and children – who were severely affected.

The medical apparatus for offering speech therapy, training through plays for children were fitted to the mobile unit in addition to the life saving apparatus.

The facility can be availed through the District Differently-abled Welfare Office.

K.B. Piramanayagam, District Differently-abled Welfare Officer, Rajkumar, Project Officer, ICDS, members from NGOs were present.
