A 32-year-old mentally ill man, T. Raja, killed his mother T. Ponnammal (64) by hitting her with a wooden log at their home in Vadaseri here on Thursday night.
The incident took place when his father Thanumalayan was away from home. Raja, who had been mentally ill for quit a long time, was brought home from Chennai after a brief Ayurvedic treatment at Thodupuzha in Kerala only last week.
Complaint
Based on a complaint lodged by Mr. Thanumalayan, Vadaseri police have registered a murder case and are investigating.
