LPF demands protection to officials

The Labour Progressive Front (LPF) affiliated to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam staged a demonstration condemning threats to government officials from the alleged corrupt regime in front of the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

The leaders who spoke at the demonstration expressed their protest against threats from ministers and higher officials forcing people like Muthukumaraswamy and ration shop employee to take drastic steps.

The leaders sought for protection to officials and employees with clean record.

The demonstration was led by Elango, District Secretary, Labour Progressive Front.

DMK district secretaries N. Suresh Rajan (Kanyakumari East), Mano Thangaraj (Kanyakumari West), Fishermen wing’s State secretary Bernard, former MLA Reginald, Padmanabhapuram MLA Pushpaleela Alben and Nagercoil Town Secretary Magesh and a host of trade union leaders participated in the demonstration.
