A blue-metal laden lorry overturns in Kurusadi near Ramanthurai under the Pudukkadai police limit on Friday morning. The lorry driver, Rajasekar, lost control of the vehicle and rammed a tiled house on the way to Ramanthurai.

It was said that the blue metal was transported to Ramanthurai from Kootethi near Karungal for the construction of groynes to prevent sea erosion into the habitations.

The tiled house of A. Lopez (65) was partially damaged, though no one was injured in the incident.

Lorry owner Sundarraj of Palliyadi rushed to the spot and held talks with the house owner. He assured Lopez that he would bear the cost of all repairs.
