Lone Govt. school to record 100% pass

The Government Higher Secondary School, Kunnakulathur, is the lone government school which has found a place in the list of 74 higher secondary schools (out of 312) that managed to record hundred percent pass in the Plus-Two examinations in Kancheepuram district.

All 38 students who have appeared for the examinations from Kunnakulathur government school in Madurantakam taluk have passed.

Meanwhile, all those who have appeared for the examinations from the following government aided schools have cleared the examinations — St. Theresa Girls Higher Secondary School, Pallavaram (623 students), Soma Sundara Kanya Vidyalaya Girls Higher Secondary School, Kancheepuram (335), Shri Venkateswara Higher Secondary School, Madipakkam (209) and Sri Dhandapani Oriental Higher Secondary School, Kancheepuram (59) .

The remaining 69 schools that have scored hundred per cent pass were private schools.

In all there are 312 higher secondary schools in Kancheepuram district out of which 131 are government schools, 144 are private schools, 32 government-aided private schools, four self-finance schools and 1 Anglo-Indian school.

While the Government Higher Secondary School, Maraimalai Nagar, scored the lowest pass percentage of 49.62 among government schools, another 13 government schools and an aided school secured below 70 per cent pass, official sources said.
