Teams have been formed to act on complaints of cash distribution in Pennagaram Assembly constituency, Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta said on Wednesday.

They comprise officials of Police and Revenue departments, besides videographers.

Mr. Gupta said only a limited number of teams could be formed in view of manpower shortage.

By the time the team members reached places where the alleged distribution was taking place, those involved had left the scene. They re-emerged later.

To a complaint by Pattali Makkal Katchi legislator T. Velmurugan on alleged discriminatory approach adopted to checking of vehicles in the constituency, he said Dharmapuri District Collector P. Amutha had told him that after Monday, checking of vehicles was being carried out strictly.

Earlier, the PMK legislator told reporters at the Secretariat that his party wanted action to be taken against those officials of Dharmapuri district who were conniving with the ruling party in violation of the model code of conduct.
