The last date for submitting application forms for 25 per cent seats reserved under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, has been extended till June 15.
The Act mandates all private schools to reserve 25 per cent seats for children from downtrodden and weaker sections of the society for admissions to LKG, Class I and VI. Currently, applications are being issued for admission to these classes.
The applications can be collected and submitted at the respective schools, also in the offices of the Inspector of Matriculation Schools, Chief Educational Officer, District Educational Officer and District Elementary Educational Officer till May 19.
However, Inspector of Matriculation Schools, Chennai, through order no. 1560/A1/2015 dated May 18, 2015 extended the date for submitting applications till June 15.
Hence, interested parents can submit the applications within the stipulated date so that the applications can be scrutinised at the right time as per the government norms. Students applying for LKG and Class I should reside within one km radius from the school, a press release from the Collector K. Maharabushanam said.
