Large number of devotees take part in Urs festival

A large number of devotees participated in the annual Urs festival of Sufi saint Hazrath Baba Syed Shah Peerulhadi Qadri Shuttari at Dongri Dargah here on Saturday.

Sandal paste

The devotees brought the sandal paste pot in a procession to the Dargah on Friday late night and the sandal paste was anointed on the tomb of the Sufi saint on Saturday early morning hours in the presence of Banuva Jamath Fakirs from Pengunda in Andhra Pradesh. D. S. Badusha Mohideen, president of the Dongiri Dargah Management Committee, and others were present.

Special prayers were offered for world peace and communal harmony at the end.

Qawwali programme also formed part of the Urs celebrations.
