Three fans of Kamal Haasan have come all the way from Malaysia to participate in the ‘Clean India’ campaign organised by All India Kamal Haasan Narpani Iyakkam at Madambakkam Lake near Tambaram on Friday.

The three members of the Iyakkam - Indran Sagaran, Vijay and Kumar - all Indians settled in Malaysia, have come to greet their counterparts in Chennai and provide the necessary help to carry out their mission. They were overwhelmed by the response to the call given by their ‘Thalaivar’.

Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Indran Sagaran said they are happy to be part of this campaign and that Kamal has a sizeable fan following in Malaysia too. To regroup their enthusiasm to help society, they had formed the Padmasri Dr. Kamal Haasan Narpani Iyakkam there two years ago, which has now grown into a bigger unit with 500 members.

As part of the series of birthday celebrations, the Malaysian unit has planned to organise a cardio camp with the support of cardiologist Dr. S. Raghupathi on November 30 at Kuala Lumpur. Head of the Narpani Iyakkam Kovai R. Thangavelu and professor Ku. Gnanasambandam are likely to participate in this programme.
