Information Technology Minister M. Manikandan informed the Assembly on Friday that he was holding talks with Google CEO Sundar Pitchai over setting up Google centres in Tamil Nadu.

Replying to DMK legislator and former Minister I. Periyasamy (Athoor), who raised an issue in the House, Mr. Manikandan said he was “personally” holdings talks with Mr. Pitchai for setting up Google centres either in Chennai or areas around Madurai. The Minister added that further talks would be held either in the United States or in Singapore in the next two or three months.
