I-T dept. conducts checks at premises of AIADMK functionary in Mannargudi

Teams of Income Tax Department officials on Monday conducted simultaneous checks at the house of an AIADMK functionary in Mannaragudi, Manoharan, and his five other properties in the town and surroundings.

Documents pertaining to the contracts he executes for Highways Department and Railways were scrutinised by the I-T teams during the searches, sources said.

Mr. Manoharan, said to be a relative of Food Minister R.Kamaraj is into multiple businesses. He is currently stated to be in Chennai.

Checks are in progress at a marriage hall, a fuel station in Mannaragudi town, and Mr. Manoharan's residence in native village Serangulam, about five km away.
