Holiday declared for schools in Nagapattinam district

A holiday has been declared for all schools in Nagapattinam taluk on June 30 in view of the Brahmotsavam festival of the Arulmigu Naganathaswamy Temple, Nagore, Collector S. Palanisamy said in a press release. July 4 would be a working day for the schools in the taluk in lieu of the local holiday, the release added.

New building for

girls hostel

A new building for the girls hostel run by the Department of Adi Dravida Welfare in Perambalur, built at a cost of Rs. 71.31 lakh, was declared open by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa through video conference from Chennai on Friday. The new building was built at a cost of Rs. 1 crore.

Counselling for ITI admission

Counselling for admissions to the Thanjavur and Tiruvaiyaru government Industrial Training Institutes would be held from June 30 to July 6, according to an official press release. Counselling for candidates who had secured 96 to 73.5 per cent marks in SSLC would be held on June 30; for those with 73 to 66 per cent on July 1; 65.5 to 59 per cent on July 2 and 58.5 to 53 per cent on July 4. For courses with class 8 eligibility, the counselling would be held on July 3. Candidates who have not received call letters can attend the counselling.
