Handloom fair opens in Dindigul

As many as 35 handloom weavers’ cooperative societies in the State are displaying their ware here for Deepavali shoppers at a handloom fair here.

Weavers from Erode, Karur, Sivaganga, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Coimbatore, Salem and Dindigul districts have displayed aesthetically-designed cotton, silk and polyester saris, organic saris, towels, mats, bedspreads, tablecloth, silk and cotton dhotis, decorative materials, carpets and mats, all priced between Rs. 12 and Rs. 3,500.

The societies from Chennimalai in Erode district have bed sheets in new designs and satin bed sheets. Their stalls also have different kinds of home furnishings and interior decorative items, pillow covers and handkerchiefs. There is a rebate of 30 per cent on all items.

The fair is under way on Kottai Mariamman Temple grounds
