The golden car of Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai would be repaired and tested before being allowed to be pulled by the devotees, the temple administration has announced here.

The golden car was repaired and a trial run was held in February this year.

During the ritual performed by the devotees on last Friday, one of the kalasams fell on a devotee, causing him serious injuries.

The Joint Commissioner of Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department R. Gnanasekaran inspected the damaged kalasam and said it would be repaired and put to use shortly.
