Young graduates should be fully prepared to face the emerging challenges to succeed in their career, said Anil K. Nassa, Member Secretary, National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.

Delivering the graduation day address at Sudharsan Engineering College at Sathyamangalam near here on Saturday, Dr. Nassa said the emerging challenges were not only multiple but also complex to such an extent that a co-ordinated team effort had become indispensable in the present-day context.

“Globalisation has brought in people of different origin and different cultures together. Ability to become an integral part of a cross-cultural team alone can ensure your success,” he said.

Dr. Nassa said the moral leadership founded on courage, intellectual integrity, and values. He regretted that in the present day context dominated by materialism and commercialisation, intellectual integrity had been relegated to the background.

Turning to faculty members of the college, he said that teachers should inspire students in their pursuit of excellence. “You are not mere tutors but custodians of traditional culture and vital agents of social change,” he said.

Avichal R. Kapur, Director-General, Meghe Group of Institutions, Nagpur, in his address, advised students to update their knowledge and skill to keep pace with the latest technology to be on the ladder of success on a sustained basis.

K. Ganesan, principal of the college, in his report, said that 383 students of post-graduate and under-graduate courses got their degree certificates.

Vijay K. Sundaram, chairman of the college, was present.
