The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court here awarded five-year rigorous imprisonment to two persons in an attempt-to-murder case here on Monday.
The convicted were S. Thangapandi and S. Pandikumar of Koonur. The prosecution said that Chinna Sadayan of Koonur had a land dispute with his elder brother Sadayan and his two sons Thangapandi and S. Pandikumar had been demanding Chinna Sadayan to settle the land dispute. On January 21, 2011, Sadayan’s sons attacked Chinna Sadayan with a knife. He was treated at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai. The police arrested the brothers. They were lodged in Madurai Central Prisons.
