“Fifth Prince of Arcot had no sons”

May 07, 2013 08:06 am | Updated 08:06 am IST - CHENNAI:

Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali on Monday said the fifth Prince of Arcot, the late Sir Ghulam Mohammed Ali Khan (1903-1952), had no sons.

He was responding to a report on Monday that the Madras High Court had directed the State government to consider afresh a claim made by the sons of the fifth Prince of Arcot over Mackey’s Garden, in Nungambakkam.

In its judgement, the court mentioned Nawabzada Khursheed Mohammad Khan and Rafique Mohammad Khan as sons and Aza Muniza Begum as the daughter of late fifth Prince of Arcot.

However, Khursheed Mohammad Khan told The Hindu that he and his brother Rafique Mohammad Khan were grandsons of the fifth Prince.
