Farmer murdered

A farmer was murdered near Gangaikondan for having allegedly developed an extra-marital relationship with a woman.

Police said T. Issac (37) of Maanamkaaththaan under Kayathar police station limits in Tuticorin district, who went to his farm on Monday evening failed to return home even after 11 p.m. After the her relatives failed to locate him, Issac’s wife Papa (27) filed a complaint with Kayathar police in the night.

When Issac’s relatives went to his farm in search of him, they found blood stains near the well and saw his body floating in it with multiple cut injuries. Gangaikondan police retrieved Issac’s body and his two-wheeler from the well.

Superintendent of Police V. Vikraman and DSP, Rajaram visited the spot. During investigation, the police found that Issac had developed illicit affair with a woman from Maanamkaaththaan and was reportedly warned by her husband to snap the relationship. When he continued the affair, he was murdered by the woman’s husband and her brothers.

Gangaikondan police have registered a case.
