Exhibition-on-wheels flagged off for Road Safety Week

An exhibition-on-wheels will travel to various bus stops in Vellore district to impart information on road safety as part of the 26th Road Safety Week celebrations.

The Vellore region of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation is celebrating the Road Safety Week from January 11 to 13 and from 18 to 21. As part of this, it launched an exhibition bus on Sunday to create awareness among the public. The exhibition-on-wheels will be stationed at various bus terminuses from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On Monday, the bus will visit terminuses at Arcot, Ranipet and Walajah, followed by Gudiyatham and Pernambut on January 13. Public coming to the bus terminuses at Tirupattur, Vaniyambadi and Ambur will get an opportunity to see the bus on January 18. The exhibition on wheels will visit Kaveripakkam and Ocheri on January 19, followed by Panapakkam, Nemili and Arakkonam on January 20.

Collector R. Nanthagopal launched the exhibition bus and flagged off a rally on the occasion. Pamphlets emphasising on obeying road safety rules, crossing roads carefully, driving without causing accidents, avoiding drunk driving, haphazard parking of vehicles and adhering to traffic signals were distributed during the rally.

Superintendent of Police, Vellore P.K. Senthilkumari was present.
