The Election Commission has introduced e-filing facility for candidates to submit their affidavits.

The candidates willing to avail themselves of this facility should log on to the Election Commission of India website: >www.eci.net.in and click the online submission of candidate affidavits.

The EC had also made setting to facilitate printing on a stamp paper. The affidavits then could be printed on a stamp paper of appropriate denomination and sworn before an Oath of Commissioner, a First Class Magistrate or a Notary Public for filing the same before the Returning Officer.

At present the e-filing could be done only in two languages – English and Hindi. With the new facility, the candidates could modify the entries in the affidavits before submitting the notarised affidavit with the Returning Officer, the release added.
