Disaster management programme

Collector M. Ravikumar has appealed to officials of various departments in government organisations to be prepared to tackle disasters, if any, at a workshop on Strengthening Emergency Response System in Hospitals organised by State Disaster Management Authority.

After inaugurating the programme, the Collector appealed to the healthcare professionals to be ready with contingency plans and adopt suitable strategies on handling any disaster.

He said Tuticorin was a coastal district with several chemical industries and stressed the need for preparedness in case of any disaster.

The participants were exposed to an overview of disaster risk management.
